I’m Michael Gurner – the Milton Keynes Celebrant for Weddings, Namings and Funerals – I’m a joyful and caring family celebrant with a passion for storytelling and a love of celebration – I work with you to craft and deliver ceremonies that celebrate lives and commemorate life events.
Everyone’s story deserves to be told, and I love to tell those stories with openness, honesty, humour and a sparkle in my eye. Every one of us is unique, and the ceremonies that are held to commemorate each stage in our lives should reflect that.
Weddings
It’s the biggest day of your life, and it’s one that should be unique – your wedding day – and together, we’ll make sure that it’s a celebration that you and your guests will never forget.
Vow Renewals
Reaffirming your love for one another and your commitment to one another in front of your family and friends can be a marvellous way to commemorate your relationship.
Naming Ceremonies
I’ll work with you, your family and friends, to create a unique naming or family joining ceremony to create a joyful and meaningful celebration of the start of your lives together.
Funerals
I’ll work with you, your family and friends, to create a unique and personal cremation or burial ceremony that celebrates the life of your loved one, and makes sure that they get the sendoff that they deserve.
Ashes Interment or Scattering
Following a cremation, the scattering or interment of your loved ones ashes can be a fitting and memorable final service you can carry out for your loved one.
Celebration of Life
Celebration of life ceremonies can take place anytime, any place, anywhere. They don’t have to be in a crematorium, a church or at a graveside; and they don’t have to be carried out immediately prior to a cremation or burial.
His ability to balance compassion with gentle humour helped create a meaningful and personal service that truly honoured my friend’s life. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a celebrant who is not only highly professional but also deeply empathetic and supportive.

Bringing the local touch wherever you are
I’m based in Milton Keynes, but like to travel – I regularly carry out weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies and other services in Bedford, Northampton, Aylesbury, Buckingham, Dunstable, Luton, Oxford, Cambridge, Rugby, Suffolk and across the UK – for weddings or blessings it’s not uncommon for me to travel abroad, so do give me a call if you think we’d be a good match.
Making Conversations Personal
Our conversations can take place in person, on the phone, via Zoom, WhatsApp, FaceTime or any combination of the above, to allow people to join us from wherever they are – I’m very experienced in helping those less familiar with the technologies, so please don’t worry.
Never Standing Still
I invest in my abilities, and attend regular training and development sessions with a number of Celebrant organisations.
